Meet Mrs. Gimpelevich
Originally from Salisbury, North Carolina, I began my teaching career in 2006 and joined The Davis Academy team as the Music Teacher in 2013. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in K – 12 Music Education. Here at The Davis Academy, I teach Jewish and General Music. In addition to teaching music, I also enjoy tutoring and preparing middle school students for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah

On evenings and weekends, I love to cook and go on walks with my husband Greg, and my daughters Rozalia and Sasha!

Musically,
Michelle
National Standards
At The Davis Academy, all music lessons are created and designed to align with our 9 National Standards in Music Education. These standards were designed in 1994 by the National Association for Music Education. For a list of these standards, click here.
Philosophy of Music Ed
I believe that music education is a RIGHT, not a privilege. Every Mechina - 3rd grade student at the Davis Academy receives music for once a week, for a duration of 50 minutes. 4th - 5th grade students receive 50 minutes of music three times a week for a 9 week rotation.
Outside of the Music Room
The Davis Academy offers a varied selection of music activities outside of the classroom. From an after - school Choral program to a spring musical, The Davis Academy enriches student lives through the arts. For more information on the music programs in and out of the classroom, click here.
