At The Davis Academy, all music lessons are created and designed to align with our 9 National Standards in Music Education. These standards were designed in 1994 by the National Association for Music Education. For a list of these standards, click here.
Philosophy of Music Ed
I believe that music education is a RIGHT, not a privilege. Every Mechina - 3rd grade student at the Davis Academy receives music for once a week, for a duration of 50 minutes. 4th - 5th grade students receive 50 minutes of music three times a week for a 9 week rotation.
Outside of the Music Room
The Davis Academy offers a varied selection of music activities outside of the classroom. From an after - school Choral program to a spring musical, The Davis Academy enriches student lives through the arts. For more information on the music programs in and out of the classroom, click here.
Meet Mrs. Gimpelevich
Hi Davis family! It's wonderful to be back at The Davis Academy this year! Over the summer, I got married and also got a new last name! I'm very excited to continue teaching music to grades Mechina - 5 this year. Additionally, I'll be teaching Mechina - 2nd grade Jewish Music - so if you're in one of those grades, I'll see you twice a week!
I previously taught music in Fulton County Public Schools for 7 years. A graduate of the University of Alabama, I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in K - 12 Music Education. I also enjoy tutoring and preparing middle school students for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah. I am very much looking forward to singing Jewish songs and celebrating Jewish holidays at school this year. I look forwarding to seeing all of you at Kabbalat Shabbat and other Davis events this year!
