Fall music lessons are FINALLY here! These are some of my favorite lessons of the school year.

Mechina - 1st grade

We have been talking about pumpkins and other items and images that remind us of fall. We watched the following YouTube videos and sang along:

We also read the following book, In the Hall of the Mountain King, written by a a colleague of mine, Megan Endicott. For more information on the book, click HERE.

Based on the music by Edvard Grieg, there are many different versions of the story of Peer Gynt. After reading Endicott's book, we then watched another musical version that tells the story a bit differently.

Second Grade

While I have not yet seen all of my second graders this week, by Friday we will all know

how to sing the melody to one of my favorite pumpkin books, The Vanishing Pumpkin.

ALL GRADES

Everyone has been preparing for Grandparent's and Special Friends Day, which will take place next Friday, November 7th. Be sure to check out the Special Events Page to practice singing your songs!
